5G Wireless

4G cell towers use around 6 kilowatts for power.

The average 4G cell tower covers 22 sq miles.

There are currently 307,626 4G cell towers in the United States.

5G base stations need 3X the power of 4G for the same coverage.

5G operates in a high-frequency band of the wireless spectrum. Because high frequency waves have a harder time traveling over distance & through objects, the 5G network will be built on small cell site technology with base stations averaging 500 feet apart.
